OBAMAMANIA!!!!

You have no idea how excited I am for Obama.

NOW,

I haven't done much with music aside from playing it. I've been practicing with my auditions and getting ready for college, so give me some time.

That and I'm always busy with school. It'll change eventually... Or never, since I'm going into education.

Aside from that, today I compiled a list of Books/Movies I want to read/to see/ to own. So, for those two people that read this, they always make awesome gifts! hint hint.

A cheap movie for a gift, seriously, is really all this guy needs.

Aside from that, we have a new quarter being rushed in. I'll be leaving my current history class (with much lamentations), but I'll be starting up another independent study with Adv. Creative Writing! Hopefully I'll finish Calculus this quarter and my fourth quarter will just be a joy ride out of high school.

That's all for now. Enjoy the new president.

A Lasting Effect

There are those few songs that bring you back to another time in your life. When I hear Green Day I think about the summer of 2005. If I hear Backstreet Boys, unfortunately, I think about my elementary school years. The most pleasing songs to bring me back are Snow Patrol and Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers, and a few others. When I listen to them, I think about when I was a sophomore and Cookie and his friends were still in high school. It was the best year of high school.

So today I began my musical year by making a playlist compiled of songs from my past. I didn't include everything, i.e.: I did NOT put in backstreet boys, because I actually would like to listen to this.

I began a project last March, where I would make a playlist every so often and name it by the day I made it. It's rather interesting to look back on 2008 and see what songs I would put in.

In my reminiscent one, I included some of the following, plus the ones I've already mentioned...

  • Blind Melon (Summer of 08)
  • The Fray (Spring of 06)
  • Enrique Iglesias (What I started dating Alex), and Aly and AJ
  • Foo Fighters (Sophomore Year)
  • Fort Minor, Eve 6, Billy Joel (Sophomore Year)
  • Goo Goo Dolls (8th Grade)
  • Rembrants (Early Middle School)
I've been spending a lot of this vacation doing a lot of thinking, about my past and the future. What I've made of myself, how I want to change, and what I want to do. I suppose the New Year is as good a time as any. I also want to continue to get rid of things, something I did really well in 2008. The less shit I have the better I feel, and I still have plenty to clean out. And it's not just the material things I have, but baggage and grudes I think the biggest resolution I have is not one dealing with change. I want to have a smooth year. I want to graduate fine and go into college well. I want to be prepared for everything. This will be one of the biggest changes of my life, and I want to handle it well.

Well, I suppose that's it for now. Til next time,

Cassius
